Pre-War MMM MG Wheel Hammer
Pre War MMM MG Lead head knock-on wheel hammer.
Shown in the original manual toolkit parts, very few of these hammers are known to still exist. Used and displayed in Pre War MMM MG period tool kits.
Research through specialist forum the MMM MG forum and period originals for sale on eBay have concluded that the original hammer used a lead head. The knock-on spinners on these cars were made of a bronze alloy, where the use of lead hammer would be most suitable. The next model, the T-Type MG used steel knock-ons, hence the hammer, retaining the same basic design and part number, changed to copper.

Casting resin pouring box for handle insert. Resin has been poured for the first half. Centre section of box lined with aluminium foil, and sides sealed with blue-tak prior to pouring.
